I am the Lead Expert of the FEMACT-Cities URBACT Action Planning Network (Lead partner: Clermont-Ferrand Métropole, France), which will tackle gender mainstreaming in urban policies in topics as diverse and interconnected as the labour market, public space, education and training, gender-based violence and health.

Over the course of two and a half years, the eight partners – Länsstyrelsen Skåne (SE), Clermont-Auvergne Métropole (FR), Região de Coimbra (PT), Kraków (PL), the Municipality of Torino (IT), the Municipality of Postojna (SI), Cluj Metropolitan Area Intercommunity Development Association (RO), and Szabolcs 05 Regional Development Association of Municipalities (HU) – will explore their individual and shared challenges and work together to tackle this highly diverse topic.
My role is to design and deliver the transnational exchange and learning methodology in cooperation with the lead partner. In practice, this means creating a range of interactive digital and in-person workshops rich in gender-relevant content which will help our partners develop their own integrated action plans. In addition, I am responsible for supporting the eight partners in their individual participative processes, including the creation and maintenance of a local stakeholder group, the transfer of learning from the transnational to the local level, and the process of creating their own integrated action plan.
